Faculty
Calvary is a well-rounded seminary with a solid appreciation for the demands of ministry. To that end, our faculty members are diverse in their education, deep in pastoral experience, and sensitive to the broader context of global ministry. Our seven full-time faculty members represent graduate-level work in biblical studies at fifteen different institutions. They bring into the classroom 91 aggregate years of full-time pastoral ministry—and, by adding adjunct faculty to the list, the numbers go up exponentially. All professors teach overseas every year in one of seven Calvary-sponsored Bible institutes. We believe that our professors are gifted by God and have a passion for ministry.

Research facilities
Calvary emphasizes research. Our library, nearly all of which deals with biblical studies, contains over 120,000 items: 73,000 books, 10,000 bound periodicals (330 current subscriptions—which, again, deal almost entirely with biblical studies), 50,000 microforms (full of valuable theses and dissertations), and 1,500 audiotapes and videocassettes.

The library building itself, built in the spring of 2000, is equipped throughout with high-speed internet connections and has a comfortable break room and pleasant, sunlit reading areas. With these facilities, Calvary's students are able to engage in high-caliber research. The result of all this is that our graduate's future congregations will be rewarded with pastors who know how to mine the difficult truths from God's Word in a way that is sensitive to the biblical text.

Academics with a real-world emphasis
All courses at Calvary are presented with an eye to practical application in the context of ministry. The professors never forget that they are training people who will minister to real people with real problems. Calvary's curriculum focuses on the process of exegesis—taking a text in its biblical, historical/cultural, and theological context and making accurate, demonstrably-valid applications of that text to contemporary life.

A seminary education at Calvary instills an understanding of Scripture and provides preachers with a higher level of confidence and enthusiasm in preaching and pastoral practice. The practical emphasis of the curriculum is strengthened by a required mentorship program for every student and flexible options for custom-made options for missionary internships.
