Women and Pastoral Ministry
It is the doctrinal position of Calvary and its general constituency that the office of the pastor (known also as a bishop or elder; 1 Tim. 3:1; Titus 1:5) is open only to men. For this reason, CBTS does not train women for the office of the pastor. However, with the exception of the Doctor of Ministry program (which is designed specifically for pastors), women may enroll in all programs at CBTS. Enrollment for women involves the replacement of homiletics courses with electives taken in the areas of counseling, education, or discipleship. Such programs are designed and approved by the Dean. |
